A man charged with the murder of Ashling Murphy in County Offaly has been further remanded in custody.

31-year-old Slovakian national Jozef Puska appeared in court again this afternoon.

Mr Puska of Lynally Grove, Mucklagh, County Offaly, appeared before Cloverhill District Court by video-link this afternoon.

He is accused of the murder of 23-year-old schoolteacher Ashling Murphy on Wednesday January 12th.

Appearing before Judge Victor Blake this afternoon, Mr Puska addressed the court only to confirm his name through an interpreter.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court again on Wednesday, February 9th for formal DPP directions.
