This year’s Junior Certificate results will be published on October 18th.
Education Minister Norma Foley confirmed the news this morning after speaking with the State Exams Commission.
The date is significantly earlier than last year – when examiners saw the results delayed until November 23rd because of examiner shortages.
Pre-pandemic, the results were traditionally published in September.
Examinations began on June 7th and ran until June 19th this year, with more than 71,000 sitting their Junior Cycle papers.
Leaving Certificate students received their results on August 25th – which saw an artificial increase of nearly 8% in students' grades.
Figures show that around 290,000 of the 410,000 exam grades have been adjusted upwards following their initial marking.
