A man has appeared in court charged with assault causing serious harm following the death of Juris Kokenbergs in Dublin.
Tomas Cypas (33) of Foxborough Road in Lucan appeared before Blanchardstown District Court this afternoon.
It comes after Gardaí responded to an incident at a house at Old Bridge Park in Lucan shortly after 8am on Monday.
49-year-old Juris Kokenbergs was found inside the house and pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Cypas was arrested at the scene for questioning in relation to the incident.
He appeared before Blanchardstown District Court today, where the court heard he was charged shortly before 11pm last night with one count of assault causing serious harm.
The court heard he made no reply to the charge.
The judge was told Mr Kokenbergs suffered multiple injuries to his head and face, with a preliminary post-mortem report shows he died from blunt force trauma to his head.
An objection was made against an application for bail based on the serious nature of the charge.
Bail was denied and Mr Cypas was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on November 5th.
