After less than an hour of deliberation, the jury in the Conor McGregor Trial have been sent home.
The MMA fighter, and his friend, James Lawrence, of Rafter’s Road, Drimnagh, are being sued for damages by 35-year-old hair colourist Nikita Hand, who claims they raped her in a Dublin hotel in 2018.
On the opening day of the trial, Ms Hand’s barrister told the jury that the case may seem complicated, but it is, in fact, “extremely simple.”
In his closing address, he reminded the jurors of her injuries, pointing to photos of extensive bruising on his client.
“Somebody did it,” he said. “It happened in the Beacon Hotel. It was Conor McGregor.”
Jury deliberations underway in civil legal action taken by Nikita Hand against Conor McGregor over an alleged rape.
She's also suing his friend, James Lawrence, claiming he too raped her in a Dublin hotel.
Both men deny any wrongdoing, claiming they had consensual sex with her.

The MMA fighter denies the allegation, claiming he had, “enthusiastic, athletic, and fully consensual sex with” with Ms Hand.
His friend, James Lawrence, claims he also had consensual sex with her.
Ms Hand told the guards she had no memory of that and is also suing him.
In her evidence to the jury, Ms Hand accused Mr Lawrence of making up a story – prompting his barrister to wonder why his client is here at all.
This afternoon, after finishing his summary of the evidence, Mr Justice Alex Owens asked the jurors to begin their deliberations.
