The jury has begun its deliberations in the trial of a teenager accused of murdering another teenager during a fight in a Dublin park.
The 17-year-old accused denies murdering Azzam Raguragui in Finsbury Park in Dundrum in May 2019.
He was stabbed during a fight between two groups of boys at the park.
The teenage accused, who can’t be named because he’s a minor, admits the manslaughter of 18-year-old Azzam Raguragui but denies his murder.
It is the prosecution’s case that the accused showed intent when he stabbed Azzam – because of his conduct before and after.
Meanwhile, the defence has argued that the accused was acting in fear and self-defence during a fight that had spiralled out of control.
The jurors began their deliberations this afternoon and have now retired for the evening.
They will resume again in the morning.
