Justin Bieber is certainly a divisive artist. While he has over 50 million Twitter followers, there may well be a longer list of those who can't stand his music - a list which now includes more than just humans.

A Russian fisherman has Bieber to thank for saving his life from a brown bear, who proved to have quite the aversion to the Canadian's music.

The Daily Mail reports that the animal confronted Igor Vorozhbitsyn at a fishing spot in Northern Russia and began mauling him, only to run away when the man's phone started to ring.

Luckily for Vorozhbitsyn, his granddaughter had switched his ringtone to Bieber's song 'Baby' as a joke.

Though he suffered from serious cuts and bruises, the phone saved him from certain death. After it fled, he was able to ring other fishermen for help.

One expert, speaking to the Mail, said, "Sometimes a sharp shock can stop an angry bear in its tracks and that ringtone would be a very unexpected sound for a bear."
