Kamala Harris has officially conceded the US Presidential Election in a phone call to President Elect Donald Trump.
The vice president of America is set to make an official speech conceding the election at 4pm local time (9pm Irish time).
A senior adviser to the vice president told CBS Ms Harris' spoke to Mr Trump on the phone about "the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and being a president for all Americans".
It comes after Mr Trump claimed he had won "an unprecedented and powerful mandate" surpassing the necessary 270 electoral college votes to take 292.
"We have a country that needs help, and it needs help very badly," he said.
"We're going to fix our borders.
"We're going to fix everything about our country and we've made history for a reason tonight."
The Republican Party also took control of the Senate from the Democrats.
