The detective who led the investigation into the disappearance and murder of Karen Buckley has thanked members of the Irish public.
Over the past couple of weeks, Police Scotland say they have received a high number of letters and e-mails from both Ireland and Scotland, expressing their appreciation for the work carried out on the investigation.
The senior investigating officer, Jim Kerr, has issued an open letter to acknowledge the public's help and kind words.
"Throughout our investigation in to the death of Karen Buckley in Glasgow in April 2015 we received and continue to receive messages of appreciation from people in Ireland."
"I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone for taking the time to contact us and for their thanks and continued support."
"It is very much appreciated by myself and the dedicated team of officers who are involved in the investigation."
Ms Buckley (24) who was from Cork went missing last month following a night out with her friends in Glasgow, where she was studying.
Her body was found on a farm four days later. She was laid to rest in Burnfort last week.
