Two weeks on from her murder, Karen Buckley has made her final journey home.
The remains of the 24-year-old arrived in Cork from Glasgow by a special Aer Lingus flight this afternoon.
In a gesture of support, the airline is understood to have paid for the bulk of the repatriation costs for the family.
21-year-old Alexander Pacteau of Dorchester Avenue is charged with the nurse's murder on the 12th of April and is also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
It is alleged the murder was carried out at a flat in the Dorchester Avenue area of Glasgow.
Mr Pacteau was remanded in custody earlier this week.
Funeral mass for Karen Buckley will take place on Tuesday at the Church of St Michael the Archangel, Analeentha, County Cork with burial in St John’s Cemetery, Burnfort.
