The Minister for Primary and Social Care says she expected more concerns to be raised about care homes and disability services following the Áras Attracta case.
Minister Kathleen Lynch was reacting to the news that 10 staff members at a Tipperary care home for people with disabilites have been taken off duty following a complaint.
The HSE is investigating a complaint relating to concerns about care practices at two residential units run by the Daughters of Charity in Roscrea in County Tipperary.
They say they've taken a number of 'protective measures' at the facility in light of the complaint, including taking 10 members of staff off duty 'without prejudice'.
Both the Gardaí and the Health Information and Quality Authority have been notified.
In a statement, Minister Kathleen Lynch said she had "anticipated that more concerns of this nature would emerge following the revelations on Prime Time last week regarding Aras Attracta."
The Minister continued "While it is worrying for all of us that this has happened, it is also encouraging that the service being carried out by HIQA is uncovering concerns of poor and unacceptable standards of care."
The Daughters of Charity in Roscrea care for 131 people across the community.
