Police in Britain are investigating after complaints were made about TV personality Katie Hopkins over a number of tweets sent from her account about ebola.

Hopkins yesterday tweeted: “Little sweaty jocks, sending us Ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians just isn't cricket. Scottish NHS sucks.”

The comments relate to a patient from Glasgow who is being treated at London's Royal Free Hospital.

Another comment said: "Glaswegian ebola patient moved to London's Royal Free Hospital. Not so independent when it matters most are we jocksville?"

More than 11,000 people have signed an online petition accusing her of racism and calling for Hopkins to be charged.
