Kenya's outgoing Prime Minister Raila Odinga is challenging the Presidential election result, which saw him narrowly defeated by his rival Uhuru Kenyatta.

Odinga has filed a formal Supreme Court challenge against the election outcome, in which Kenyatta won by a majority of just 50.07 per cent of the votes.

Odinga won 43 per cent of the votes in his third attempt for the presidency.
