Keogh's Crisps have been named the best cheese & onion flavour in the UK.
The Irish brand beat out over 44 other brands to take the coveted title.
The findings were announced on ITV's This Morning show yesterday by consumer affairs journalist Martin Lewis.
He set out to find the UK’s best cheese & onion crisp via a mass taste test of 44 competing brands.
All the products were blind-tasted by Lewis along with 25 other tasters.
The crisps were rated on overall recommend-ability and strength of flavour.
Keogh’s Mature Irish Cheese & Red Onion flavour came out number one.
Kettle Vegan Sheese & Red Onion came in second with Tayto's Craft Vintage Irish Cheddar & Onion third.
The line up included all brands found in UK supermarkets.
On the findings, Lewis said the results had a few surprises for him.
"The big surprise was that a non-cheese & onion crisp came second," he said.
"Several crisps were vegan by chance – though Kettle's 'Sheese & Red Onion' was vegan by brand and design – and they smashed non-vegan rivals.
"Another surprise was that many of our testers were surprised at the end that they'd ranked their unrecognised pre-expected favourites poorly.
"Obviously I recognise that taste is personal; so while you may disagree with our results, I hope this may help guide you some towards new brands to try."
Lewis added that of the group of 26 tasters, only nine professed to be "proper cheese & onion fans."
