A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of another man in County Kerry.
The body of the man aged in his 80s was found at a house in the Castlemaine area yesterday morning.
A man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of murder earlier today.
He is being held under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act at a Garda station in Kerry.
The body of the man who had been shot dead has been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry.
A post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out this afternoon by the State Pathologist.
The scene is preserved for technical and forensic examination.
An incident room has been established at Tralee Garda Station, and a Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to the case.
A Garda Family Liaison Officer is also liaising with the family.
Gardaí have said the investigation is ongoing.
