A man has died, and another has been seriously injured, in a car crash in Kerry yesterday afternoon.
According to Gardaí, the two-vehicle collision happened in Kilbonane in Beaufort at approximately 1.10pm on Sunday, June 26th.
The sole occupant of one car, aged in 50s, died at the scene. His body was removed from the scene to the mortuary in University Hospital Kerry where a postmortem will be conducted in due course.
A teenage boy driving the second vehicle was removed from the scene and brought to University Hospital Kerry where he remains in critical condition. The second passenger, a girl in her late teens, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The road was closed for an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward. They are particularly interested in talking to drivers who were in the area and may have camera footage.
