A Kerry student is celebrating after winning a trip to the NASA Space Centre in Houston, Texas.

Eimear Donovan is from Presentation Secondary School in Listowel. She won the prize after she selected "Ireland's Greatest Woman Inventor" from a shortlist of 10 Irish innovators and pioneers.

10 Irish women who have made a pioneering mark in science, engineering, maths and technology made up the list of finalists in the Ireland's Greatest Woman Inventor competition.

16-year-old Eimear is a science enthusiast and as well as travelling to the Space Centre, she will visit the Intel Museum in Silicon Valley and spend two days in California.

Eimear has been speaking to Radio Kerry.
