Kildare Co. Council increasing water supply over weekend

Kildare County Council is increasing its water supply from the River Barrow over the weekend. This is to boost supply to parts of Kildare which are being affected by the reduced supply from Ballymore Eustace, which serves the Greater Dublin Region.

It's been announced that night time water restrictions, from 8pm to 7am, will continue until at least next Thursday. Around 1.5 million water users in counties Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow are affected.

Neil Walker, IBEC's Head of Energy and Environment Policy says the problems are caused by lack of investment in infrastructure:
