Two young men are seriously ill in hospital after a crash in Co Kildare.

Five men - aged between 18 and 20 and a juvenile - were travelling in a Red Toyota Starlet in the early hours of this morning.

It hit a ditch and overturned on the Clane to Kilcock Road at Mainham at 2.30 am.

Four of them were taken to Naas General Hospital for treatment - two of whom are in a serious condition.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who travelled the R407 this morning between 1.45am and 2.45am and who may have seen anything to contact them at Naas garda station on 045-884-300, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111 or any garda station.
