A man from Co Kildare has got his weekend off to a flying start, after picking up a cheque for €350,000 at National Lottery offices in Dublin today.
He won the prize in Wednesday's Lotto Plus 1 draw.
Celebrating his win today with his sister and father, the happy winner said: "I was at my mam and dad's on Wednesday night and gave my ticket to my dad to check."
The winner's father said: "I always check the Lotto numbers. I write them down and then look up the results on teletext. When I saw that my son had won, I went in to the room and said 'I think you've a winner there!'".
The player bought his winning ticket in Yvonne's, Edward Street in Newbridge.
He plans to share his winnings with his family and spend the rest on home improvements. The winner wishes to remain anonymous.
Tomorrow night's Lotto jackpot is an estimated €8m.
