That's according to the latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index for 2012. 

The survey has shown that year on year hotel prices are on the rise across the country.

Hotel room rates in Ireland are now at their highest since 2008. The average room price in Ireland is now €90 per night, up 5% year-on-year.

Dublin prices are up by 8% while Limerick is Ireland's least expensive destination at €67 per night.

Galway is the second most expensive destination, with room prices at an average of €100.

Seamus McCormack from Hotels.com says the recovery in the industry is attributed to events like the tall ships and the conferencing market in Dublin:
