Two men have been handed life sentences for the murder of Vincent Parsons in August 2019.
The 34-year-old father of two was beaten to death after he left a stag party in Tallaght in Dublin by 27-year-old Philip Disney of Donomore Crescent and 30-year-old Sean Carlyle of Donomore Avenue.
34-year-old Mr Parsons had been attending a stag do at the Killinarden Inn on 26th August when he came to the attention of Disney.
After a brief interaction, Mr Parsons ran from the pub, and was soon followed by Disney and Carlyle in a van.
He was followed to Killinarden Way where he was subjected to what's been described as a “pitiless beating” by Mr Justice Kerida Naidoo.
Mr Parsons died in hospital two days later.
Today, the court heard his wife Claire describe him as a gentle man who had never been in a fight in his life.
Mr Parsons’ sister, Marian, told the court of the impact his death had on their family and this mother hasn’t been the same since his murder.
Judge Naidoo said the men were in control of their actions that night and showed no human decency, noting Mr Parson’s watch had been stolen by the pair after they “left him to die”.
The pair showed no remorse during the sentencing and heckled abuse at the family before they were removed from the courtroom.
