The internet was all up in a tizzy yesterday, as reports emerged that celebrity couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had refused to pay their hotel bill while honeymooning in Ireland last May.
Several news sites say the newlyweds reversed the deposit on their black American Express card, on account of the hotel being 'too big' and having weak mobile reception.
However, a representative of Castle Oliver resort in Limerick has told Newstalk that the hotel was paid in full and that "they do not know where [these] reports were coming from". They also added that they would never normally comment on guest matters but felt that they had to clarify in this case.
After a brief stay at Castle Oliver, they newlyweds moved to the Ballyfin House in Co Laois before cutting their Irish trip short and travelling to mainland Europe instead.
US-based celebrity news site RadarOnline also reported that an employee based in the US was even fired for booking them into the venue in the first place.
