A 57-year-old man has been jailed for nine years for his role in helping the Kinahan Organised Crime Group murder Noel Kirwan in Dublin eight years ago.
Declan Brady, formerly of Wolstan Abbey in Celbridge, Co Kildare, was linked to the operation through DNA evidence and Garda surveillance.
Known as ‘Mr Nobody,’ Declan Brady is already serving sentences for money laundering and firearms offences.
The court accepted he wasn't at the front line in relation to the shooting dead of Noel Kirwan outside his home in Dublin just before Christmas 2016, but Mr Justice Tony Hunt said he wasn't on the periphery either.
Mr Kirwan, who had no involvement in criminality, was killed at the height of the Kinahan Hutch gangland feud after being photographed next to Gerry Hutch.
Brady was involved in the organisation of the hit and while he admitted his guilt, the judge noted the lack of remorse or an apology before jailing him today for nine years.
