A man remains in Garda custody while searches of two properties have been completed for the night in the investigation into the disappearance and murder of Kyran Durnin.
A man in his 30s remains in Garda custody this evening in relation to the disappearance and murder of Kyran Durnin.
He was arrested this morning on suspicion of murder and can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Gardaí have finished the search of a second property in relation to the investigation into the missing, presumed dead, eight-year-old boy.
Gardaí launched searches into two properties in Drogheda, County Louth, earlier today.
The search of the first property was finished by one o'clock this afternoon and Gardaí say they will not be releasing details of that search for operational reasons.
The search of the second property finished shortly after 5 o'clock, however, it is not yet known if the search has been completed or if it will be resumed in the morning.
Gardaí said today's searches are in a continued effort to establish what happened to Kyran Durnin.
On Tuesday, a woman was arrested on suspicion of murder and released without charge on Wednesday.
If alive, Kyran would be eight-years-old - he was last seen in the summer of 2022 and reported missing in August this year.
Gardaí have urged anyone with information “no matter how insignificant it may seem” to get in touch with them.
