The search of a house in Drogheda will continue today in connection with the disappearance and suspected murder of eight-year-old schoolboy Kyran Durnin.
On Newstalk Breakfast, the Irish Sun crime editor Stephen Breen said the search is expected to conclude today.
“The Gardaí took control of this property in Drogheda on Wednesday, the search has been continuing, and it's expected to conclude later today,” he said.
“We understand a number of items have been recovered from that property and they will now be analysed in the efforts by Gardaí to try and establish what happened to the missing schoolboy two years ago.”

The search has been “meticulous” and “forensic”, Mr Breen said.
“The search will continue - it stopped yesterday evening in terms of the light, but the search is continuing,” he said.
“It's been a very meticulous and forensic examination of that property - it's the fourth property that's now been searched by Gardaí investigating Kyran’s murder.
“When they are satisfied, when they have completed their search, when they've recovered the evidence that they have been seeking to try and establish his whereabouts, the investigation will move to the stage of analysing the items that were removed from that property.”
Mr Breen said the investigation is “still very active” but Gardaí continue to appeal for people with information on Kyran’s disappearance to come forward.

Yesterday, on the second day of this property search, Kyran’s father showed up at the property to view the Garda search operation.
He stood outside the house, accompanied by two friends, and at one point he got visibly distressed and started shouting, “He’s my son, yous don’t understand”.
The schoolboy, who would now be eight-years-old, was reported missing at the end of last summer but Gardaí believe he may have been killed over two-years ago.
The main focus of the current search in Drogheda is the back garden of a house.
Gardaí and forensics have excavated the garden with a mini digger, while they have also been cutting down trees and dismantled a large shed as the search continues.
