It seems there are no limits to the things some people feel justify a call to the emergency services. While most will only call 999 or 911 in case of a genuine emergency, others seem to have more unusual views on what warrants such a phone call.
Last Friday, Facebook experienced a temporary crash. Some LA residents felt the downtime was so important that it warranted a call to 911 and the LA Sheriff's Department.
Sgt. Burton Brink took to Twitter to express his frustrations at this abuse of the emergency number:
#Facebook is not a Law Enforcement issue, please don't call us about it being down, we don't know when FB will be back up!

It's not the first time the emergency lines have been dialled for reasons that would struggle to be defined as an emergency. You may remember the case earlier this year of the man who phoned 999 to try and reach Alex Ferguson and express his disgust at a football related 'crime'. You can listen back to that clip here.
