It is reported that Labour wants to increase tax for people earning over €100,000.
According to the Sunday Times, the party hopes the move may win back some public support after another disastrous poll.
The Sunday Times Behaviour and Attitudes poll today puts Labour at just 7 per cent support - down four points from the previous poll.

Fine Gael are the country's most popular political party on 27 per cent, Fianna Fail are on 23 per cent, while Sinn Fein are on 15 per cent support.
The biggest increase was for the independents, gaining seven points to 25 per cent.
