A London-based breast-milk ice-cream maker is facing legal action by avant-garde popstar Lady Gaga after naming one of its new flavours ‘Royal Baby Gaga’.
According to The Independent, the ‘Poker Face’ singer’s lawyers have issued a writ claiming that the singer is concerned that fans of her and her brand will mistakenly believe that she has endorsed the breast-milk product.
‘Royal Baby Gaga’ was introduced by The Licklators to the UK market in April in celebration of the birth of Charlotte Windsor, the second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambrigde, Prince William and his wife Catherine.
The Licklators company now has two weeks to cease using the name and to scrub all of its social media accounts of references to the name Gaga.

But the company is, according to spokesperson Nadine O’Connor, not willing to back down without a fight. The Mirror reports the company claims the ice-cream marketing “neither names nor features Lady Gaga, nor are her trademarks infringed.”
"We will not be bullied into removing content from social media relating to our product and subsequent media coverage,” Ms O’Connor said. “However, we will send complimentary tubs of our ice cream to Lady Gaga for chilling out to, as a gesture of peace and goodwill."
This is the second time that the American singer, soon to be seen starring in the new series of American Horror Story, has taken legal action against a breast-milk ice-cream brand. In 2011, Lady Gaga’s legal team went head to head with The Icecreamists for its ‘Baby Gaga’ product, and for using a Lady Gaga lookalike in its marketing campaign.
