Gardaí are treating the death of a man in Co. Laois as a gangland murder.
The man was aged in his 20s.
He was shot at around 8.30am this morning at the Kilnacourt Woods Housing Estate in Portarlington.
He was rushed to Tullamore General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Crime Correspondent with the Irish Daily Star newspaper is Michael O’Toole.
He says the victim was well known to Gardaí in both Laois and Dublin.
He told Lunchtime here on Newstalk that the man had been involved in an on-going feud between rival gangs in Crumlin and Drimnagh.
