A meeting of the country's leading law experts are meeting today to consider setting up a Court of Appeal, to take pressure off the Supreme Court.
The seminar in Dublin will be attended by the Minister for Justice Alan Shatter, the Chief Justice Susan Denham, and the Attorney General Máire Whelan.
Creating a Court of Appeal would require a change to the Constitution and would therefore need a referendum.
