/> A leaked report which was prepared for the Health Minister has revealed that just one in 10 of the HSE’s financial management team is fully qualified for their role.
The group is responsible for spending the organisation’s 13.7 billion euro annual budget.
The Sunday Independent reports that the twenty-page document – prepared by external experts – says the HSE has “unrealistic” plans for cost cuts, which could place patients’ lives at risk.
And it warns that the Croke Park agreement may have to be revisited.
Deputy Business Editor with the paper, Tom Lyons, says the document was sent to Health Minister James Reilly two weeks before HSE Chief Cathal Magee resigned last week.
