Leaving Certificate students who get their results on Wednesday have been warned not to take risks if travelling abroad to celebrate.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says teenagers abroad need to “behave sensibly and avoid unnecessary risks”.
The Department has already come to the aid of 700 people who got into trouble while abroad this year.
They are now warning Leaving Cert students who are planning on soaking up the sun to celebrate not to drink to excess and not to use drugs.
While they encourage students to take out comprehensive travel insurance they also warn that insurance will not cover you if you are injured while under the influence.
And officials are warning of the risks of using motorbikes or quads without the appropriate safety gear which is another action which could lead to your insurance being void.
