Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange rainfall warning for Leinster.

Meterologists are warning heavy and persistent rain is on the way.

It is estimated that between 40 and 70mm of rain will fall over the next 24 hours.

The weather service has also issued images of the kind of weather we should expect over the Bank Holiday weekend.
