/> Former workers at Target Express in Cork have described this evening’s initial meeting with the company’s provisional liquidator as “positive”.
The High Court this evening appointed Grant Thornton as a provisional liquidator to Target Express in the Republic of Ireland.
It’s after the haulage company ceased trading on Monday – with the loss of 400 jobs throughout the country.
The provisional liquidator will meet with all of the firm’s former staff tomorrow – in order to ensure that the terms and conditions of their employment are fulfilled.
In the meantime though, staff at the company’s plants in Cork, Carlow and Wexford are staging sit-in protests.
