A jury has been sworn in to hear the trial of a man accused of murdering a woman at her home at Sandyhill Gardens in Ballymun, Dublin 11, in May of 2022.

Brian McHugh, of Cairn Court, Ballymun, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Lisa Thompson.

The trial, which is due to get underway tomorrow, is expected to take up to three weeks.

Ms Thompson (52) was found dead at her home in Ballymun on May 10th, 2022, after she had been stabbed up to 12 times.

The mother-of-two may have been dead for a number of days before her body was discovered.
