The Taoiseach has hinted that his government needs to stay in office for up to five years to complete Ireland's recovery.
Enda Kenny has told the World Economic Forum that the recovery has only worked so far because of political stability.
But he says that could be put in jeopardy if there is a major political upheaval.
Speaking in Davos this morning he says he needs at least three more years to make sure an economic turnaround is not lost.
Enda Kenny is joing around 2,500 political, business and social leaders from across the globe for the conference.
The event is being seen by the IDA as a good opportunity to promote investment in Ireland.
As part of his schedule, the Taoiseach will have personal meetings with the heads of several major multi-national firms, mainly in the tech and financial industries.
