Having the largest medically certified penis in the world comes with positives and negatives, according to Matt Barr.

Measuring more than 12 inches, over double the global average, he said it limits what clothes he can wear and is more exposed to injury than a regular penis.

Mr Barr first discovered he was larger in that department during his early teens and has often considered a size reduction.

On Moncrieff today, he said his large penis has been both a blessing and a curse.

“Obviously there are some benefits to it, the pretty obvious one being the attention you get from it,” he said.

“But that attention often comes at times you don’t necessarily want it either and it’s not something you can just hide or put away.

“Once it’s out there, it’s out there and everyone knows, so I might as well just be more open about it, spread awareness, and be more comfortable with it.”

Discovery

Mr Barr said he realised he was unusual in the days before the internet was around.

“When I was 13 or 14 it was clearly bigger than everyone else’s [at school],” he said.

“I measured it at home afterward - this was before the internet - and I thought at first: ‘OK, it’s not too much bigger than everyone else’s.’

“But then I saw how they were measuring; I confused the erect size and the soft size - so I was in the 0.001% of people even back then.”

Reduction surgery

Mr Barr said he previously appeared on a TV show in the hope they would pay for reduction surgery.

“In the end, they didn’t pay for it,” he said.

“It costs around £15,000 or £20,000, which, with the cost-of-living crisis, is hard to find for something like this.

“In most cases, reduction surgery is done when there’s a tumour or if there’s irreparable damage being done; there aren’t many cases of it being performed.”

Clothing choice

He said he has to choose clothes to wear very carefully.

“That’s the biggest day-to-day problem I have,” said Matt.

“People always think about it from a sexual connotation because they’ve seen porn, but I’m walking around with it all the time.

“It’s the same as a woman with large breasts in terms of the weight, but it’s also the friction and trying not to be obscene in normal clothes.”

Myths

Mr Barr said it’s important for people who share his issue to have their voices heard.

“I’m old enough that I don’t care about my public perception, so I’m habituating a lot of those myths that come up quite frequently with this topic,” he said.

“When I was younger it was different, but let’s just roll with it now, I suppose.

“I think society has got to the point where it’s a bit more comfortable discussing these things with OnlyFans and all these things coming out, compared to how reserved we were 10 or 20 years ago.”
