Long delays on train services between Cork and Dublin can be expected until at least lunchtime today.
Machinery equipment blocking the line between Limerick Junction and Charleville has caused train delays after it broke down overnight.
Anyone travelling between Cork Kent and Dublin Heuston can expect delays of up to two hours.
Update: Normal signalling has resumed between Ratluric/Limerick junction following earlier operational issue. Expected ongoing delays to Cork/Heuston/Cork & connecting services of up to +120mins. Expected to ease over the course of the day. - TFI @IrishRail

Irish Rail Head of Corporate Communications Barry Kenny has said services on the route will be affected by delays until lunchtime.
"Machinery working on the line has broken down, so it's blocking one of the two tracks between Charleville and Limerick junction," he said.
"That means that all trains in both directions have to go through the single track, and we have a lot of safety arrangements to put in place for that.
"So delays are ranging between one and two hours caught up in services at the moment, and that will continue, certainly up to lunchtime at this point, as we work to rectify the fault of machine and clear the line."
Some services will be amalgamated to minimise the overall delay, Mr Kenny said.
