Traffic is at a standstill in Dingle, Co Kerry after a lorry lost control and hit a shop front. The incident happened at around 1:30pm this afternoon.

No-one was seriously injured in the incident but the driver of the lorry has been taken to Kerry General Hospital.

It is understood the driver suffered minor injuries.

Gardai are advising people to avoid the town for the next number of hours unless absolutely necessary.

Technical examinations of the scene are being carried out.
