Love Island winner Greg O'Shea says he can't wait to bring Amber Gill for a pint of Guinness when she visits Limerick.
The Rugby 7s player has returned home after the pair won the reality show almost two weeks ago.
He flew into Shannon Airport this morning, where hundreds of fans awaited his arrival.
Greg said he was overwhelmed by the welcome he received.
He said: "Honestly I'm speechless... that many people... I can't even count them.
"I literally just thought my family and friends would be here. This is amazing... I just love the people of Limerick."
He explained that he turned down Love Island producers a number of times before agreeing to go on the show.
He added: "I'd watched six weeks of the show already, because I wasn't supposed to be going in.
"I'd rejected the initial casting [...] then they pushed a couple of things around for me, and I managed to go in late into the series. And I ended up winning it."
Listen back to Henry McKean's report from the homecoming:
Greg also insisted that the hugely popular show isn't scripted.
He observed: "It's genuine emotions and feelings. In a normal, everyday context it would take weeks for you to bring someone on a couple of dates - they just make that happen for you straight away.
"It's just sped up, but it is real."
