Producers of the hit TV series Love/Hate have confirmed that the show is be sold to an American cable channel.
The changed format rights deal will create a US version of the show, with producers hoping to air within 18 months.
Each episode of the show currently costs 600 thousand euro.
Speaking to Bobby Kerr on Down to Business, James Flynn of Octagon Films says that the Irish TV industry will benefit from the deal.
"The hope is that in about 18 months time there will be a Love/Hate USA, not dissimilar to what happened with Shameless," Flynn said.
