Loyalists in the North say they plan to hold a protest in Dublin on Saturday January 12th.

They are calling on the Irish government to remove the Tricolour from Leinster House saying the Oireachtas should stop interfering in their affairs.

The news comes after more riots broke out on the streets of Belfast last night over the decision by Belfast City Council to restrict the number of days the Union flag is raised at City Hall.

Officers injured in protests

10 police officers were injured in the disturbances last night.

One officer was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

The Albertbridge Road had to be closed off for a time because of a burning barricade and a car was also set on fire.

Northern Ireland Security Correspondent is Alan Murray.

He says the last time loyalists held a protest in Dublin it turned violent.

Spokesperson for the Ulster People's Forum is William Frazer.

He says they want the Irish people to understand where they are coming from with the flags issue.
