The Manager of Roscommon County Council has issued a statement rejecting outright claims made by Luke 'Ming' Flanagan over penalty points being struck off.
Deputy Flanagan admitted in the Dáil yesterday that he twice had penalty points struck off after he was caught using his mobile while driving. This happened once by a senior Garda and once by a senior Council official.
The Roscommon-South Leitrim TD Luke 'Ming' Flanagan has said he does not believe his quashing of penalty points is a resigning matter.
County Manager Frank Dawson says he assumes he is the official Deputy Flanagan is referring to and he has pledged to take the matter to the Assistant Garda Commissioner in an attempt to protect his good name and reputation.
Earlier Luke 'Ming' Flanagan admitted to the Joe Finnegan Show on Shannonside-Northern Sound that he had acted corruptly.
