The Ceann Comhairle has reacted with fury describing it as "an act of vandalism" after a government minister was presented with dirty water in the Dáil.
During a debate on the Water Services Bill, Independent TD Luke 'Ming' Flanagan displayed a jar of dirty water and described it as "piss".
He then walked across the chamber and placed the water in front of Minister with responsibility for New Era, Fergus O'Dowd.
Ceann Comhairle Seán Barrett then came into the chamber and said he was going to take action against Deputy Flanagan.
Following on from this, the opposition parties then walked out of the Dail chamber in protest at the Water Services Bill.
