style="text-align: left;">The Health Minister James Reilly has rejected opposition suggestions that he shoved the HSE chief executive Cathal Magee out of his job.

Dr Reilly said Mr Magee made a decision to step down from the HSE of his own accord.

He made the remarks as he announced a new structure for the HSE which will see seven new directors appointed to manage specific areas of the service.

They include primary care, hospitals, mental health and family services.

The Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin said Cathal Magee was an effective administrator and Dr Reilly is responsible for shoving him out of his job.

/> The editor of the Sunday Times in Mauritius has been arrested.

Imran Hosany was arrested by police at 6am local time.

He is under investigation after the newspaper published photographs of Micheala McAreavey’s dead body on Sunday.

There has been widespread condemnation of the move by the paper.

Authorities in Mauritius said they expect the source of the leak to the Sunday Times,

style="text-align: left;">7 men have been arrested and a firearm and drugs seized during a major operation across the south eastern region this morning.

60 Gardai took part in the operation,which targeted organised criminal groups, believed to be responsible for over 70 crimes committed across Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Wexford over the past twelve months.

The men are being detained at a number of Garda stations across the South East.

style="text-align: left;">Aer Lingus shareholders have been told to reject Ryanair’s latest offer for the airline.

The company said that it will be outlining to shareholders that the offer of €1.30 per share fundamentally undervalues Aer Lingus.

Ryanair yesterday submitted a formal takeover of Aer Lingus with an offer totaling 694 million euro for just over 70 % of the airline it does NOT already own.

But CEO of Aer Lingus Christoph Mueller says this offer is far too low.

style="text-align: left;">Aer Lingus is back in the Commercial Court to secure an order to reduce the share capital in the holding company by 500 million euros.

The case came before the court last month but was put back to address concerns about shortfalls in the airline’s pension schemes of around 650 million euros.

The hearing is due to go on all day.

style="text-align: left;">One of the last remaining Nazi war crimes suspects has been arrested in Hungary.

97 year old Laszlo Csatary was number one on the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s wanted list.

Mr Csatary is accused by the Wiesenthal Center of having helped organise the deportation of some 15,700 Jews to the Auschwitz death camp during World War II.

British tabloid the Sun confronted the suspect at the weekend.
