Madonna has played the first US concert of her MDNA world tour in Philadelphia.

The material girl was joined on stage by her 12-year-old son Rocco at one point during the show.

She also told these fans she’s proud to be American and to have freedom of speech, before calling for the release of the jailed Russian punk band Pussy Riot:
