A body has been found in the search for a missing woman in Galway. 

Units have been searching for missing swimmer, Máire Ní Fhátharta, at Silver Strand since November 12th.

This afternoon, a body was found near Rusheen Bay and has been transferred to the morgue at University Hospital Galway.

Gardaí say the search has been stood down for now but that a formal identification has yet to take place.
