Mairia Cahill says she hopes Paudie McGahon gets the justice he deserves, after he spoke about his alleged rape by an IRA member.
Ms Cahill went public with her abuse claims last year, and now 40-year-old Mr McGahon has told his story to the BBC's Spotlight programme.
The Louth man alleges he was raped in the early 1990's and interrogated by an IRA 'kangaroo court' in 2002.
Mr McGahon says he was asked how he felt his attacker should be punished - his attacker was ultimately sent to England.
But Paudie McGahon told BBC last night it was clear there were other options:
Meanwhile, Sinn Fein is calling for an all-Ireland 'sex abuse initiative' after further allegations of abuse against an IRA member.
In the Dail yesterday, Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams said the allegations of how Mr McGahon was treated were a matter of 'very very deep regret' for him.
