Major changes to Iarnrod Eireann's timetables are to come into effect today.

Additional trains will be provided for a number of routes, including the Dublin-Galway line, the Dublin-Westport line, and a number of commuter services around the capital.

Outside of Dublin, there will be amendments made to services to and from Limerick, Sligo, Waterford and Cork.

Customers are being told to check the Iarnrod Eireann website to see how the changes affect them.
