There has been a major drugs seizure at Rosslare Port in Wexford.

Customs seized heroin with a street value of almost €1.5 million after examining a jeep which came off the ferry from France.

Revenue say it followed routine profiling and that sniffer dog Ralph (pictured above) gave a positive reaction on a vehicle that had disembarked the ferry.

The heroin seized is worth almost €1.54 million 

The Mercedes Jeep was scanned by Customs and the drugs were found concealed in the vehicle.

A Dutch national in his 60s has been arrested. He is to be taken to Wexford Garda Station.
